Come, join us and explore the vast Milky Way galaxy by just sitting comfy in front of the monitor or notebook. That is made possible by YouTuber daveachuk with a movie gathered from hundreds of thousands of Spitzer space telescope’s photos, 400,000 to be precise. The finished movie is a compelling sight, a choice chance one can view over and over again.

The beauty of this endeavor was that photos were captured using the Spitzer telescope with the aid of infrared light, enabling the instrument to penetrate the thick clouds of dust, gas and matter which permanently hide the full view of our galaxy.

The photos used in the video were taken by the Spitzer telescope during NASA’s ‘Glimpse Project’ and ‘MIPSGAL Project.’
