Acting Masbate governor stops government funded projects in Cawayan

CAWAYAN, Masbate, March 17 — The appointment of vice-governor Vince Home Revil as acting governor of Msbate province is disrupting government funded projects in this town. Revil allegedly withholds funding of projects alloted to the municpality which are already financed by the provincial government while detained Governor Rozalina Lanete was still in office.

Meanwhile, Mayor Edgar S. Condor disclosed that during his visit at Bureau of Jail Management and Penology in Camp Bagong Diwa in Bicutan, he was informed that Lanete did not want the idea of Revil on budget realignment. Even in detention Lanete sought the assistance from the majority of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan members to oppose the move of Revil. Provincial board members jointly decided to boycott two of the council’s sessions held every Monday for the same reason.

Board members revealed that the heavy equipment being used in the projects had been returned to the Provincial Engineering Office following Revil’s order. The acting governor has stopped all the projects upon appointment to the position by the Department of Interior and Local Government after Lanete’s departure.

Lanete had been allegedly involved in the P10-billion public fund scam which led to a plunder case against her.
