According to weather forecaster Manny Mendoza typhoon Ruby was also expected to make another landfall in Romblom between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. of Monday and then a landfall in Oriental Mindoro around 11 a.m. -1 p.m. of the same day.

He said that once ‘Ruby’ makes landfall, the typhoon may also weaken its strength due to friction effect with landmass.

Mendoza also sees the possibility of a lesser wind strength due to the effects the northeast monsoon, ridge of high pressure and trough of low pressure area.

As the typhoon moves closer to Visayas and Luzon, he said its outer spiral will bring rains and gusty winds in some areas of Luzon including Metro Manila starting Sunday evening or Monday morning.

He added typhoon Ruby is expected to exit Philippine Area of Resposibility on Wednesday. (PNA report by Christopher Lloyd T. Caliwan)
