Bicol region is reeling from the massive blackout, total power disruptions in all areas, while affected residents are just beginning to face the difficult task of rebuilding, again.

Even with the absence of electric power in the entire region, the provincial governments in Bicol have ordered the decampment of a total of 98,133 families or 504,222 persons inside and outside evacuation centers.

The regional disaster management council reported that of the total evacuees, 75,491 families or 364,990 individuals were inside 72 evacuation centers in the entire region.

As of Friday, officers of the Tactical Operations Group 5 of the Philippine Air Force have been conducting damage assessments in the entire region.

A partial report on damaged houses said 7,993 were totally destroyed while 27,802 were partially destroyed.

Damages on infrastructure were initially placed at P1.2 billion. Destruction on agriculture had conflicting figures.

RDRRMC’s figure of damages was pegged in a conservative P2.5 billion, but in Albay alone, it was P4.2 billion as of Friday.

Two provinces were declared under state of calamity, Albay and Camarines Sur, one municipality, Tigaon in Camarines Sur, and Naga City.

All Bicol provinces now have water supply, except Albay province and the City of Naga.
