Complete energization of Albay will take 2-3 months – APEC

LEGAZPI CITY — While few localities in the province have their electricity supply restored much of the area taken over by Albay Power and Energy Corporation are still in the dark.

It is more likely that the unenergized areas of the province will have to wait for at least two to three months before power can be fully restored.

According to Engineer Russel Serrano, technical and maintenance division chief of the power retailer, the restoration of backbone and primary lines are being prioritized which should take until the end of July.

Serrano however cautioned that still it will take between two to three months for the whole system to be fully functional.

As of July 21st, a stretch of primary lines in this city between the subsations located in Washington and Bitano have been restored.

After Typhoon Glenda, some 321 electrical posts were damaged according to the initial report by APEC.

As of this writing the power retailer do not have yet a complete assessment report on the damage in its serrvice area.

So that most of the rural barangays and sitios of the province do not have electricity yet, a less priority being under the final distribution end of the service called lateral lines. (Rewritten from PNA report)
