Seven PMA cadets graduating with Siklab Diwa class hails from Albay

As the Philippine Military Academy conduct its ceremonial graduation exercises at the Borromeo Field today honoring the “Siklab Diwa” class of 2014, many Bicolanos and more so with Albay folks stand proud. Seven of the graduates hail from the province including the class valedictorian Cadet First Class Jheorge Llona.

The six others are Rolly Lopez of Ligao city, Jeanelyn Cabrido and Ranjan S. Palacio from Guinobatan, Juanito A. Siddayao of Legazpi city, Charlie A. Bernaldez of Bacacay, Angielyn B. Samaniego of Polangui, and Julan M. Ocharan of Camalig.

Llona hails from a poor family, whose parents (Nelson and Gloria) work in their half-hectare rice farm in Barangay Maopi of Daraga, Albay. Jheorge’s father said that even while still young, his sixth son had already shown potentials of excelling in any activity, especially in his studies.

During Jheorge’s high school days at the Anislag National High School, he was being teased by his classmate as “malamya” or “mahinhin” (gentle). He would walk two kilometers just to attend his classes in the nearby Barangay Anislag. After graduating Jheorge took up accountancy course at the Bicol University and entered the PMA two years later.

Earlier last week, the PMA released the list of successful cadets joining the graduation including the top ten, listed below.

Cadet First Class Jheorge Millena Llona, 22, and a native of Maopi, Daraga, Albay. Llona will joining the Air Force and will get the following awards: Presidential Saber, Philippine Air Force Saber, Academic Group Award, Management Plaque, Air Force Professional Courses Plaque, JUSMAG Award, General Antonio Luna Award, and Australian Defense Best Overall Performance Award.

Salutatorain is Cadet First Class Liza Jumawid Dango, 25, from Cagayan De Oro City and will join the Army. Her awards include the Vice Presidential Saber, Philippine Army Saber, Humanities Plaque, and Australian Defense Best Overall Performance Award.

3rd is Cadet First Class Billy Casibi Codiam, 25, of Kalinga will join the Army awarded the following: Secretary of National Defense Saber, Social Sciences Plaque, and Spanish Armed Forces Saber.

Cadet First Class Leo Mac Callueng Tuliao, 21 of Cagayan is 4rth will join the Air Force. Fifth is Cadet First Class Noel De Venecia Raguindin, 24, from Pangasinan will join the Navy. His awards Philippine Navy Saber, and Tactics Group Award.

Cadet First Class Carlito Christopher Pajarillo Agustin, 21 is sixth, from Tuguegarao city, will join the Army. Cadet First Class Frank J. Anzale, 25, is seventh, will join the Army. He will receive the Natural Sciences Plaque.

Cadet First Class King Kristian Dennis Marca Argoso, is eight, from Gumaca, Quezon, will join the Air Force. Cadet First Class Greg Philip Lesmoras Monsalud is 9th from Cagayan will receive the avy Professional Courses Plaque. He will join the Navy. Cadet First Class Alvin Kantala Balangcod, is 10th from Benguet. He will receive the Army Professional Courses Plaque and join the Army.
