Consider politics as a never ending episode like the local serial telenovela. For now in Camarines Sur, two personalities and their supporters will get to learn the real score, even after the winners of the past 2013 local elections were proclaimed, specifically for the seat in the most populous third congressional district of the province.

Few days from now, the Commission on Elections will hand out the decisive ruling on the case for disqualification filed against Atty. Leni Robredo. The charges hurled by the opposite camp include alleged failure to submit truthful reporting on donations (within the specified time limit) and accepting foreign donations.

The third charge, which is still in progress, is vote buying using government funds during the elections. There is this alleged dole out of P100,000 each to several barangays in the third district from the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) of Sen. Francisco Pangilinan.

The accuser is defeated candidate Atty. Nelly Villafuerte.

Before the May 2013 local elections, have posted here an article about the popularity of candidate Robredo, including the initiative on fund-raising led by American businesswoman Loida Nicolas Lewis to support (Robredo) her candidacy.
