Update on Yolanda Damages: Death count increases to 3,637 with 12,501 injured and 1,186 missing

As of 6:00 PM, November 16, there are now 3,637 individuals reported as dead, 12,501 injured and 1,186 missing.

A total of 2,104,037 families or 9,815,895 persons were affected in 9,699 barangays in 44 provinces, 539 municipalites and 56 cities of Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol, Eastern Visayas, Central Visayas, Western Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Caraga and Davao Regions.

Out of the total affected, 644,543 families or 3,060,011 persons were displaced. There are now 1,086 evacuation centers established with 76,454 families or 367,759 persons being served inside the centers and 568,089 families or 2,692,252 living outside the evacuation centers.

The number of damaged houses incfeased to 494,611 with 248,176 totally daaged and 246,436 partial.

The total cost of damages increased to P10,339,290,061.00 with P1,250,108,600.00 for infrastructures and P9,089,181,461.00 for agriculture in the regions of Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol, Eastern Visayas, Central Visayas, Western Visayas and Caraga.

Damage to agriculture are valued at P2,412,653,276.00 for rice in 86,192 hectares; corn at P226,986,542.00 in 14,207 hectares; and high value crops at P1,967,979,332 in 54,967 hectares. Total value of damage now at P4,607,619,150.00 in 155,366 hectares of cultivated land.

Power outage is still being experienced in some provinces and municipalities in the regions of Mimaropa, Bicol, and the three Visayan regions.

The municipalities of Barbaza in Antique and some municipalities in Capiz and Iloilo still experience the absence of water supply.

The disaster reduction council said that a total of P91,956,704.25 worth of relief assistance was provided to the affected families in all identified damaged regions, coming from DSWD at P37,320,628.22; the LGUs at PP36,718,294.33; the DOH at P13,419,712.56 and NGOs at P4,498,069.14.

Working round the clock now are a total of 18,798 personnel, 883 vehicles, 55 seacrafts, 87 aircrafts and 5851 other equipments from national and local agencies including responders and volunteer groups and organizations deployed to various stricken areas.
