Blue alert means all PDRRMCs in the provinces of Albay, Sorsogon, Masbate, Catanduanes, Camarines Norte and Camarines Sur are in state of closely monitoring the weather condition and its possible effects on their respective areas, according to OCD Regional Director Raffy Alejandro, RDRRMC chairperson.

Alejandro added that all PDRRMCs and response units should always be on standby.

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has suspended all sea travels to and from Catanduanes after the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) raised Storm Signal No. 1 over the province due to the typhoon.

The number of stranded passengers coming from Metro Manila has swelled in Tabaco port in Albay while passengers going to the mainland Bicol are stocked in the ports of Virac at San Andres, Catanduanes.

Meanwhile, four fishermen have been reported to have left their village in Gigmoto town, Catanduanes, to fish on Oct. 8 and have not yet returned since they sailed out.

The PDRRMC identified the fishermen as Pedro Zuno, Joel Concepcion, Michael Borbe and Rolando Vargas.

It added that if the four would still not be found as of 12 noon, Thursday, they would be officially declared as missing.

The RDRRMC has advised the public to be always on alert and listen to weather condition advisories from the concerned government agencies and officials.(PNA report by Nancy I. Mediavillo)
