A Bicol artist group based in Naga city and a Calabanga Catholic rural parish collaborates for a worthy project.

The seminal Salingon Art Group composed of Bicolano artists and the parish of Black Nazarene in Binanuaanan Pequeno mounts a unique exhibit which will run for one month at the Gallery of Avenue Square (in Naga city) beginning the 28th of August and ends on the 25th of September.

Dubbed as “The Black Nazarene Exhibit,” the project is a twofold feast for the senses with the mysteries of the Rosary- the Joyful, the Sorrowful, the Glorious and the Luminous, are highlighted in the form of paintings by the artists. It will be crafted as stained glass designs by Pancho M. Piano for the church interior of the Black Nazarene.

The exhibit aim to generate funds for the ongoing church construction, to sustain the devotion to the Rosary within the community and the pilgrims by coming up with vivid visual presentations inside the church as part of its interior design, and to boost the positive reception of the community for culture, arts and Bicolano artists.

A Catalogue will come out for in-depth presentation of the Black Nazarene Exhibit as well as the Parish and will be available for sale beginning August 25th. Also, a Pledge Book for the benefit of the project in which everyone is encouraged to signify specific monetary support will be made available at the parish office.

Patrons are free to decide which stained glass design they would want to sponsor in reference to the painting. Sponsorship is open to all who are willing to help transform the paintings into stained glass designs for the beautification of the Parish Church interior of the Black Nazarene.

A Dinner Concert, featuring the Singing Priests of Caceres and local artists at the Avenue Plaza Hotel will wrap up the event, still part of the highlights of celebration of the 4rth parish foundation anniversary.
