Lupi Camarines Sur was listed among the beneficiaries of the P900 million Malampaya fund, supposedly given to farmer-beneficiaries under the Department of Agrarian Reform.

The fund is part of the alleged, P10 billion government money including the Priority Development Assistance Fund of congressmen and senators, that Janet Lim Napoles has siphoned to her private assets for a period of 10 years.

In Naga city, With garbage bursting in an open dumpsite foul smell will inevitably overwhelm this city in two years’ time, should the local government here fail to resolve the problem.

Joel Martin, head of Naga City’s Solid Waste Management Office, said the city government is pushing the waste-to-energy project to resolve the garbage problem. If it fails to build the plant and landfill within two years the stink from the garbage cannot be controlled.

In Pili, Cam Sur, the Department of Agriculture is preparing possible charges against protesters who destroyed the Golden Rice variety, a genetically modified organism, planted in an experimental farm inside the compound of the D A regional office here.

Emily Bordado, chief of the agricultural information office, said the lawyers of the D A here are now identifying protesters who forced their way inside and uprooted the Golden Rice planted in the farm.
