Easter Beer Plaza Fund Raising at the Octagon

The “Octagon” is a squat building that occupies the municipal lot which used to be an open space with a basketball court. It was there we watched various village teams compete for the championship trophy during the summer night games.

Now, the eight-sided unwalled edifice serves as a multi-purpose venue for activities that ranged from town meetings, programs, parties and fund raising. Also a convenient parking structure when not occupied.

One forthcoming big, fun activity is the pioneering Easter Beer Plaza on April 4, 2010 that kicks off at 6:00 o’clock in the evening. Gate ticket sells at P100 and entitles holder 2 cans of ice-cold beer for starter.

The activity is organized and being coordinated by the new Calabanga Damayan Foundation. The organization aims at raising seed money for its laudable humanitarian project of providing free health services to the poor and less fortunate residents with the end purpose of constructing a community hospital.

Our friend Nenita Casida Teano chairs the organization. She would like to invite and solicit the support of our townmates, friends, good-hearted and concerned individuals for this endeavor. For ticket and info please contact: Ansing Almiro cell 916 602 5133; Spring Burst Water refilling station, land line 054-255 6329; and, councilman Job Casida, land line 054-255 6096.
