LTO to launch cashless transaction technology Feb 1
MANILA, Jan. 22 — The Land Transportation Office is set to launch a new cashless transaction system beginning next month.
The LTO will be the first government agency to adapt the technology.
On Feb. 1, clients will no longer stay in long lines as the system can serve transactions on renewing licenses, renewing registrations and setting fines.
New machines of wireless module where payments can be done through ATM and debit cards will be installed shortly to ease the manual cashier system.
LTO spokesman Jason Salvador said it is another way of avoiding “red tape” with simple, safe, convenient and efficient service to the public.
The new system will be deployed first at the main offices within the metro area and will roll out to various satellite offices soon.
