MANILA, Dec. 18 — Weather systems to bring rainshowers in parts of PH. State weather agency PAGASA forecasts that tail-end of a cold front is affecting Central and Southern Luzon while the northeast monsoon continues to affect Northern Luzon and the Trough of low pressure area (LPA) affects Mindanao.
Most parts of the country will be cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers Thursday as three weather systems continue to affect the country.
The low pressure area is still outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) and is expected to dissipate in the next 24 hours.
Due to trough or extended cloudiness, the LPA will bring light to moderate rainshowers over Eastern Visayas and Caraga.
Meanwhile, parts of Bicol Region, Aurora, Quezon and Palawan will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rains until Tuesday because of a tail-end of a cold front.
The tail-end of a cold front is the front boundary of two air masses which produces clouds and rain.
Northern Luzon, on the otherhand, will remain to have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with passing light rains due to the effects of the northeast monsoon.
The rest of the country, including Metro Manila, will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with possible isolated rains because of localized thunderstorms.
The state weather bureau also issued gale warning as strong to gale force winds associated with the surge of northeast monsoon which will cause rough to very rough sea conditions over the seaboards Northern and Central Luzon and the eastern seaboard of Southern Luzon and Visayas.
In its advisory, PAGASA said moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast will prevail over Luzon and Visayas and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough.
Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the northeast with slight to moderate seas. (PNA)
